A: It is very important to defragment a Windows 95/98 computer
on at least a monthly basis, if not weekly, depending on your system usage.
In our
experience we've found that by defragmenting a Windows computer the majority of minor
software problems can be fixed and or avoided.
In order to defragment a Windows 95/98 computer follow these simple steps:
- Click, Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Scandisk
- Click, Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter
The computer may tell you that defragging
is not necessary, but you should regardless of what the computer says.
Step 1: Decide how you are going to transfer your files, FrontPage
or FTP
Step 2: Activate your web hosting
space, specifying the option selected above
Step 3: Transfer your files
A: This error is typically returned by a
browser when the web site you are trying to contact is either down,
overloaded or has moved. An immediate resolution to this error is
out of your control and your best solution is to wait and try back
later.
A: This error typically occurs when you click on a hyperlink in
a web page, which is in fact pointing to a file located at an FTP site. The error
may mean that the file is password protected, unavailable or that the site is to busy to
accept your connection. You will have a much better chance of obtaining the file by
using an FTP program.
A: Microsoft requires that every visitor to their support site
fill out a Registration form. This form is used to identify your profile and provide
you with your customized view on subsequent visits. You are only required to fill
out the Reigstration form once for all Microsoft related sites, and you might as well get
it over with now.
