Removing the Web Publishing Wizard

The Web Publishing Wizard has been known to cause numerous problems when used in conjunction with  FrontPage.   Since FrontPage has it's own transport protocol there is no need to have the Publishing Wizard on your computer and we recommend that you remove it.  For detailed instructions click here.

Basic Instructions

  1. Open the Control Panel by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel.
  2. Click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Scroll down the list until you see Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard.   Click Add/Remove.
    The version will vary
  4. Click Yes, not No and reboot.

Detailed Instructions

Step 1:  Open the Control Panel by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel.

 

Step 2:  Click Add/Remove Programs.

Step 3:  Add/Remove

Scroll down the list until you see Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard.  The version will vary.  In this case version 1.53.

Add/Remove

 

Step 4:  Click Yes

Click Yes, not No.  The computer will remove the software and a reboot will finalize it.
